You have every tool you need right inside of you and with proper use of these tools your sound can be changed. The first step is to learn all you can about your vocal tools. One of the most important tools is called the "diaphragm" which must be activated to control your sound. Using the diaphragm when inhaling air provides a cushion for the tone to ride on. Without this "seat," your sound is weak, wobbly and even out of tune. Chest breathing is wrong for singing and can strain the voice. Check out my article on Breath Control to learn Diaphragmatic Breathing. Studying with a qualified vocal teacher will help you develop your voice and provide you with much-needed feedback. If I can be of further help, feel free to send me an email. Remember this: You have a beautiful voice inside that wants to be free to express and communicate your true emotions. You have the power to unlock this voice, exercise it and change your sound.
