Ten Top Workout Songs!
Ellen has been an online writer for several years. She is a music aficionado who loves making playlists in her spare time.
When left to your own devices, it can be hard to give your exercise session your best. So, what can help motivate you? Music, of course! At home, when trying to exercise, I find myself sitting down, procrastinating, ringing friends, surfing the net (anything, but exercising). I would never sit down on the tread mill at the gym, I would be too self-conscious! What I have discovered is that the right type of music can be my substitute workout friend. So, if you're the type of person who needs some music to feel motivated to exercise, then this playlist should help!

1. "Alone!"—FOCHBY
I heard this song recently. It was upbeat and uplifting. It left me feeling happy. I thought I would share it! I am going to put it on my own playlist. It has a feeling of Spring to me!
2. "Dangerous!"—David Guetta
An addictive tune. I love the video as well. It's so intense when David Guetta gives that dirty look to his arch rival!
I don't know where the lights are taking us
But something in the night is dangerous
And nothing's holding back the two of us
But, baby, this is getting serious.
— David Guetta (
3. "Tsunami!"—DVBBS and Borgeous
Tsunami can assist you to, go higher, faster, and harder. A song for people who have no limitations when reaching their peak! I can never get enough of this one!
Stuck in a daze I feel like I'm riding a wave
My life is a roller coaster inside of a maze (woo)
I hope it's a phase, spending away more than I save
I don't know if I'm acting my age any more, man
— DVBBS and Borgeous ("Tsunami!")
4. "Earthquake!"—Labrinth
Earthquake is fast and catchy. You'll hear yourself chanting "Fire fire, we about to set this place on fire, without a match or lighter." The aim is to keep moving while you are singing along, and to get the lyrics right!
Ladies and gentlemen
This is something they call a ground-breaker
So, let me first apologize
To the shirts and the ties for your make-up
'Cause I'll make you ugly, as soon as it drops
We're on a rampage, bottles poppin' off
— Labrinth ("Earthquake!")
5. "What You Waiting for?"—Gwen Stefani
Time will go extra fast, with this tune on, making your goals easier to accomplish. Come on! What are you waiting for?
Like a cat in heat stuck in a moving car
Scary conversations
Shut my eyes, can't find the brake
What if they say that you're a cloner?
— Gwen Stefani ("What You Waiting for?")
6. "Lose Yourself"—Eminem
Add a few extra miles, a few extra reps, or lose a few extra calories with Eminem's encouragement. It's a real motivational song that never seems to get overplayed.
His palms are sweaty, knees weak, arms are heavy
There's vomit on his sweater already, mom's spaghetti
He's nervous, but on the surface he looks calm and ready
To drop bombs, but he keeps on forgettin'
— Eminem ("Lose Yourself")
7. "One Wine!"—Machel Montano and Sean Paul
This is one of my favourite songs. I know it can get me in an active mood. I even managed to plank through this entire song once. The song is so lively and upbeat, it can motivate you to carry on, even when you want to stop.
Just A Tuesday Night Mi Deh Around De Chill Spot
When She Walk In The Whole Place Get Quiet
To How The Gyal Look, Trust Me Her Ting Shot
But It Nuh The First Time Me See Gyal And She Hot!
— Machel Montano and Sean Paul ("One Wine!")
8. "Holiday!"—Green Day
Listen to this song if someone has ruffled your feathers, or if you are feeling rebellious. I like to jump around to this one on my trampoline like a rebel. Get it all out of your system!
Hear the dogs howlin' out of key
To a hymn called faith and misery (hey!)
And bleed, the company lost the war today
— Green Day ("Holiday!")
9. "Baddest Things!"—Party Favor and Nymz
Do you want to work that little bit harder? Leap past the perimeter of your workout? If you have never heard this song before, give it a listen. It could be the song that has the ability to push you that extra mile!
When I go in, I go in like I go in
I see smoke and I might go in
I go in like a bat go in
I go in like I might go Jim
Might go Jim or I might go slim
I go in like text messages
And data on a micro sim
— Party Favor and Nymz ("Baddest Things!")
10. "We Will Rock You!"—Queen
If you are looking for a bit of an adrenaline boost, here is a good song! It's a great song to warm up to. It'll get your heartbeat quickening!
Buddy, you're a boy, make a big noise
Playing in the street, gonna be a big man someday
You got mud on your face, you big disgrace
Kicking your can all over the place, singin'
— Queen ("We Will Rock You!")
